System Settings: DST > XLIFF

On the basis of XLIFF file templates, you can determine the processing and display for XLIFF files. You can select the templates while setting up a project.

Attention

Please note that you cannot change the splitting settings for XLIFF. This means that the texts in crossDesk are always displayed in the form of paragraphs.

Option
Description
Ignore target content
Determines whether, in the case of bilingual XLIFF files, the target-language content is to be ignored during check-in and thus not to be inserted in the Target Editor.
Extract paragraphs without translatable text
By default, only XLIFF contents that contain translatable text are checked in to Across. If your XLIFF files contain sections that consist of tags only, activate this option. In this way, these sections will be checked in and subsequently inserted in the target file upon check-out. Otherwise, the target file will not contain these sections.
Add segmentation information to the translation file
Determines that MRK elements used to mark segment boundaries are exported to the translation file during check-out. MRK elements are created, for example, during manual segmentation in Across, but can also already exist in the source text. In both cases, the option must be enabled for the MRK elements to be inserted into the translation file.
Spacing
  • Determines how spaces that occur in the source file are handled during check-in.
  • Always preserve

    All spaces will be kept.

  • Always normalize

Multiple consecutive spaces will be removed.

  • Normalize unless xml:space=preserve is set

Multiple consecutive spaces will be removed unless the attribute xml:space=preserve occurs in the source text. In this case, all spaces will be kept.
