Modes of the Across Translator Edition
Translator Edition
You can use the Translator Edition in case your customer sends you source documents in the form of files, not as Across tasks. In this case, you will be both the project manager and the translator, i.e. you need to set up a local project on the basis of the documents you receive and the project settings, attributes, etc. of your choice.
To start the Translator Edition, select the option Process my own projects in the login dialog and click Start.
For the example workflow, you will be working in this mode.
Please note that only the Premium Edition features all functions of this mode. Further information is available under Editions and Pricing.
Offline Client
The Offline Client is suitable for scenarios in which you need to connect directly to the Across Language Server of a customer. To use the Offline Client to connect to an ALS, your customer needs to give you a so-called softkey for the login. Through this connection, you can retrieve tasks with the settings that your customer configured on the server.
Across features a granular settings and rights system. Take a look at the possible settings and contact your customer in case one of the settings hinders you from doing your work effectively.
To start the Offline Client, import a softkey under the option Access servers of my customers in the login dialog and log in.
