System Settings: DST > Tagged XML v2

The Tagged XML v2 section largely corresponds to the document settings of Tagged XML.

The following Tagged XML v2 default templates are included:

Default template
Purpose
JSON text
Translation of JSON files
Portable Objects and templates
Translation of PO files
YAML
Translation of YAML files with crossTransform

Attribute values

A difference to Tagged XML exists with respect to the processing of attributes and attribute values: In crossDesk, the values of attributes that are set to Translatable or Locked in the attribute settings of the respective elements are displayed in separate paragraphs. Translatable attributes can be translated or edited, while locked attributes are displayed as read-only.

By contrast, the values of attributes set to Hidden and Ignored are not displayed in separate paragraphs for the translator, but are merely components of the tags, as in Tagged XML. If Hidden is selected, the attributes and attribute values will be displayed within the scope of a document preparation task and can be made visible to the translator if necessary. However, if Ignored is selected, the attributes and attribute values will be hidden permanently and will not even be displayed within the scope of a document preparation task.

Conditional Mapping to Structure Attributes

For the Tagged XML v2 format, you can conditionally map elements to structure attributes. This means that an element can be mapped to a special structure attribute under consideration of its enclosing elements and attributes. If the element is enclosed by another element, the respective mapping will not apply.
