User Settings: General > Spell-Check
Under Spell-Check, you can select the spell-check(s) to be applied in the Target Editor. Thus, you can enable the following spell-checks by marking the respective checkboxes:
- Hunspell
- Sentry SpellChecker Engine
- The MS Office spell-checker
- The entries (terms) in crossTerm
- Your user dictionaries from Microsoft Office
In addition, you can select the degree of similarity (high/medium/low) of the suggestions provided.
If you activate several entities for the spell-check, Across will consider a word as correct and no error will be displayed if one of the entities identifies the word as being correct.
Information on the spelling check in the Target Editor is available here.
Hunspell
Hunspell is a free spell-checker. The spelling is checked on the basis of dictionaries implemented in the form of dictionary files.
- By default, Hunspell dictionaries are available in the following languages:
- German
- English (British English and American English)
- French
- Portuguese (European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese)
- Spanish (Spain, International Sort)
Apart from these languages that are available by default, you can add other languages (i.e. dictionaries). A selection of dictionaries can be found under Hunspell dictionaries.
MS Office spell-checker
If you activate the MS Office spell-checker as spell-check entity in Across, Across will access the MS Office spell-checker on the local system in the background while working in crossDesk.
For this reason, MS Office (or MS Office Proofing Tools) must be installed on each computer on which you want to use the MS Office spell-check.
Please note that the results of the MS Office spell-check depend on the MS Office (or MS Office Proofing Tools) version installed on the local system. Therefore, the results of the spell-check performed when a document is checked in on the Across Client of the project manager, may differ from the results on the Across Client of the translator in case different Office (or MS Office Proofing Tools) versions are installed. The same applies to tasks in the crossGrid and crossWAN context.
