Protecting Translations
In certain cases, you may want to protect translation units in order to prevent their content from being modified. For example, these may be standardized, fixed translations that have passed through a release process. At the same time, you should make sure that these standardized translations are used in a translation and cannot be modified by the translator.
Across allows mapping such scenarios and protecting translation units by "freezing" translations with the Released state. These protected translations can only be edited by authorized users.
The released translations to be protected should always be context-independent translations. In other words, only translations that can be used in any context should be protected, i.e. translations that will not require style or content changes.
