How long does the training for a language take?

Depending on the size, we need 1-2 weeks for a training.

What exactly does the consulting offer include?

The basic package accompanies the pilot phase with the aim of ensuring the best possible quality of the AcrossMT engine by selecting the appropriate training data. The Plus package adds an ROI analysis based on the Across Data Cube. You can flexibly book the review tool for quality comparisons with both packages.

Which content does AcrossMT make the most sense for (marketing, technical documentation, etc.)?

AcrossMT can achieve good to very good results with both types of text. During training with several hundred thousand segments, machine translation delivers a quality that is equal to a human translation.

How many segments does it take to train the engine?

This depends very much on the quality of the training data. As a guideline, we recommend 100,000 segments for a very good quality. The more, the better.

Do I need to have V8.0 installed before I can use AcrossMT?

No, AcrossMT is already supported as of version 7.0 15980, including an outstanding support of formatting and tags.

What are the costs of AcrossMT?

AcrossMT has a volume-based pricing model. The costs per 1000 characters are between 16 cents for the entry-level package and fall to 1 cent in the largest package. Each package includes trainings for new language directions.

The automation of the retrainings is the next planned extension, so that new translation units are transmitted from the Across Language Server to the AcrossMT engine. At the same time, we are planning a dynamic MT connection for crossDesk. This suggests a completion of the segment during editing.

Is it possible to use AcrossMT outside the Across environment?

Technically, a very clear yes! Third-party systems can be connected via the API at any time. In principle, the use is also possible in other CAT tools. However, the free retraining can only be used in conjunction with the Across Language Server.
