wizards_user-wiz_offline_03

Select the user type Offline user. Add the group membership Translator, either by clicking > or by double-clicking the group.

If necessary, select a suitable settings template in order to provide the translator with the preferred user settings.

Tip

The rights of the group that a user belongs to determine whether the respective user is permitted to customize his user settings. By default, a translator can modify most of his user settings.

Selecting a Packaging Template

Select a suitable packaging template. The packaging template determines which data are to be transmitted, e.g. only the TM and the terminology of certain subjects.

If you select None, the packaging dialog will be displayed when assigning tasks to offline users.

Determining Language Skills

wizards_user-wiz_offline_06

Determine the translator's language skills. In this way, the translator will be available for the tasks that suit his profile.

With the help of the rating, you can determine the translator's language skills. During the task assignment, users with higher language skills will be displayed further up in the list of users.

Determining Subjects

wizards_user-wiz_offline_07

Determine the subject areas in which the respective translator may work. In this way, the translator will e.g. only see translation units from these subjects when translating in crossDesk.

Checking and Adapting Language and Subject Information

wizards_user-wiz_offline_08

Check whether the language combination, subject, and rating match. Under Properties, you can e.g. increase or decrease the rating for a certain subject.

Assigning Licenses and Saving Softkeys

wizards_user-wiz_offline_09

Check the information and save the softkey or send it by e-mail. The translator needs this softkey in order to log in to Across.

Finishing the User Creation

wizards_user-wiz_offline_10

Review the translator's contact details and finish the user setup.

Sending Translators Softkeys

If you did not select the option E-Mail Softkey when you generated the softkey, send the softkey to the translator in a suitable way. With this softkey, the translator can log in to Across and connect to your Across Server.
