Users and User Management

To use Across, each user needs a separate login.

As a matter of principle, the client/server architecture used by Across allows all users to access all centrally stored data. In order to restrict access to data by assigning specific rights to users, thus creating different roles in the translation process, Across has groups that can be used to assign uniform rights and settings to multiple users.

User groups

The following predefined user groups represent the usual roles in the translation process and are available in Across by default:

User group
Details
Supervisor
Administration of system settings
Project manager
Processing of projects
Terminologist
Terminology management
Translator
Translation
Reviewer
Review of translations with the help of comments
Corrector
Modification and correction of translations
crossTerm Web read/write access and crossTerm Web read access
Terminology research and management in the browser

Additionally, you can create custom groups. If you select an existing group as the basis, the group rights will be passed on.
