Preview

At any time while translating it is possible to generate a preview of the source or target document displayed via the Tools > Preview menu or the corresponding icons of the Tools toolbar. Various preview settings can be configured under Tools > User Settings > General > Preview.

For certain document formats, the preview is not displayed in the preview window of Across; rather, the respective application is started and the source or target document is opened therein. For example, this is the case with the Office 2007, 2010, 2013, and 2016 formats (DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, etc.). In these cases, the documents can be edited in the respective applications.

However, please note that these changes will not affect the document or its contents in Across.

Word Preview

When translating Word documents, crossDesk is synchronized with the translation preview in two ways: Firstly, the paragraph currently selected in crossDesk is automatically marked in the preview of the Word document. Secondly, it is possible to go to a paragraph in crossDesk by clicking the corresponding passage in the Word preview:
