Settings
In the crossTerm Web settings, you can customize crossTerm Web with regard to the number of hits displayed during the concordance search, sorting of terms by instances, and saving user settings.
To open the crossTerm Web settings, click the icon (on the right to the selection of the crossTerm Web mode).
Selecting the number of hits for the concordance search
First, you can determine the maximum number of hits to be displayed in crossTerm Web for the concordance search.
The selected number of hits affects both the actual concordance search and the concordance search that can be executed via the corresponding tab in the term view.
Selecting the number of hits per hit page for the concordance search
In addition, you can determine the number of hits to be displayed per hit page.
According to the selected setting, the search hits are displayed on hit pages. Using links such as, for example, you can navigate between the individual hit pages.
Sorting crossTerm hit list by instances
In addition, you can also sort search hits by instances in crossTerm Web. By default, the hits are displayed alphabetically across all instances. The search hits can now also be sorted by instances.
To do this, select Sorting by instance from the drop-down list.
Click Define order in the drop-down list to define the order of the instances.
To do this, copy the instances to the right pane with a double click or using the icon. The input field under the available instances in the left pane enables you to filter the list of instances by entering letters or words. Click the
icon to delete the input and thus the filtering of the instances.
You can customize the sorting of instances by means of the and
icons.
Search hits from instances not contained in the right pane are listed at the end of the hit lists.
Saving user settings
Finally, you can enable the saving of user settings.
In this way, the settings you selected, such as the language direction, the search mode (term search, entry search, etc.), and the defined filter settings will be saved and will also be selected after logging in to crossTerm Web anew.
