Groups

In the Groups section, groups at term level can be created and managed.

By using groups, related data categories can be interlinked and organized hierarchically. The groups are taken into consideration when creating, editing, and displaying terms. The following example shows the term "PIN code", which contains a group. The group consists of a text field for a collocation ("Collocation") and an associated text field for an example sentence ("Sample sentence (collocation)"). The two data categories are presented as part of a group. By means of the indentation, the data category of the sample sentence is hierarchically subjected to the main data category of the group ("Collocation").

cTeM_terme_gruppe

If a group is used when creating or editing a term, a value must be defined for the main data category of the particular group. Accordingly, it is not possible to leave the data category designated as main data category blank in a group.

Attention

Please note that when deleting a group, all data contained in the grouped data categories will also be deleted. Therefore, to secure your database, you should back up the crossTerm database before deleting a group.
