Changing Editing States
Changing the Editing State of Several Paragraphs at Once
There are several ways of changing the editing state of several paragraphs simultaneously.
- Via the Context View/Source View
- Go to the Context View/Source View and select the paragraphs whose editing state you would like to change. In order to do this, click each of the desired paragraphs one after the other while pressing the Ctrl key.
To change the editing state of several successive paragraphs, you can also use the Shift key. To do this, select the first paragraph, keep the Shift key pressed and then click the last paragraph for which you wish to change the editing state.
- The editing state of the selected paragraphs can be changed in two ways:
- Select an editing state by clicking one of the icons in the crossDesk toolbar.
- Click the right mouse button and select an editing state from the context menu.
- Via crossView
- Select a node (
) from the document structure view in crossView (
) to change the editing state of the paragraphs in this node.
- Click the right mouse button and select an editing state from the context menu.
- Select the paragraphs whose editing state is to be changed. You have the following options:
- This node: To change the editing state of just one node or paragraph.
- This node and all sub-nodes: To change the editing state of the selected node including all sub-nodes, i.e. of all paragraphs under the selected node.
- All sub-nodes: To change the editing state for all sub-nodes, but not for the selected node.
- Via the menu
- Select the menu item Tools > Change Paragraph States.
- The dialog window for changing editing states will now be shown. First select one of the following options:
- All paragraphs: To change the editing state of all paragraphs in the document.
- All paragraphs with a certain editing state: To change the state of all paragraphs in the document that have a certain state. In this case, select the desired state or states.
- All empty paragraphs: To change the editing state of all empty paragraphs.
Certain document formats, such as exe and rc files, may contain a large number of empty paragraphs. Using this menu item in crossDesk, you can simply and quickly set all empty paragraphs of the current document to the desired state.
- Now select from the drop-down list at the bottom the editing state which is to be assigned to the previously selected paragraphs.
- Click OK to confirm the change of the editing state.
