Standard Workflows

The following overview shows the predefined standard workflows.

Tip

While working on their tasks (correction, review, and release), reviewers and correctors can delegate paragraphs containing errors or inaccuracies back to the translator. To delegate a paragraph back, set it to the editing state Touched (icn_cDesk_zustand_bearbeitet).

Further information on delegating paragraphs back to translators is available at: Redelegation to the Translator.

Translation

The Translation workflow only includes the translation of documents; these documents may or may not have been partitioned.

Advanced

The Advanced workflow consists of the following tasks: preparation, term extraction, term translation, document translation, and document correction. As part of the preparation work, the assigned project manager locks or hides segments in the source document and adds comments if necessary. The term extraction is then carried out, followed by the term translation. Once this has been completed, the translation of documents - which may have been partitioned - and their subsequent correction can be carried out.

Terminology Work and Translation

The Terminology work and translation workflow consists of the following tasks: term extraction, term translation and document translation. The term extraction is carried out first, followed by the term translation. Only then can the translation of the documents, which may have been previously partitioned, take place.

External editing

The External editing workflow provides the option of editing documents outside Across. This includes such tasks as translating document formats that are not supported or post-editing translations (for example, changing formatting, content, etc.). The workflow is managed within Across: for example, a translator receives his or her translation task in Across, translates it outside Across and transfers the completed translation from within Across to the responsible project manager.
