Conditionally Mapping an XML Element to a Structure Attribute
For the Tagged XML v2 format, you can conditionally map elements to structure attributes. This means that an element can be mapped to a special structure attribute under consideration of its enclosing elements and attributes. If the element is enclosed by another element, the respective mapping will not apply.
- Proceed as follows:
- Go to System Settings > Document Settings > Tagged XML v2 and select a document settings template.
- Select an element and click Edit in order to open the Element Properties dialog.
- Select the option Conditional and click Settings.
- Click Add to determine the first condition.
- Click Add parent and specify the enclosing element that the condition is to be linked to.
- Click OK.
- Add any other enclosing elements or attributes.Tip
The number of enclosing elements you need to specify depends on the structure of your XML file, e.g. on the occurrence and nesting of the relevant elements.
- Activate the option Map to structure attribute and select a structure attribute.
- Click OK.
- Add any other conditions you want to include.
- Click Close.
- If the element is to be stored with a structure attribute even without a condition, activate the option Map to structure attribute in the Element Properties dialog and select a structure attribute.
- Click OK.
- Close the system settings.
- The next time you use the document settings template, the defined elements will be stored with the respective structure attribute.
