System Settings: General > crossGrid
The crossGrid section serves the basic configuration of crossGrid. By importing Server Certificate Package (SCP) files, you can determine which Master Servers and/or Trusted Servers your Across Server is to work with. In crossGrid, SCP files ensure the connection and communication between your Across Server and another Across Server.
Your Across Server as Master Server
If projects are delegated from your Across Server to another Across Server, your Across Server takes on the function of the Master Server. In turn, the Across Server that is to be delegated the projects takes on the role of the Trusted Server. In this case, click Import below the list of Trusted Servers to register this Across Server as a Trusted Server. Then select the SCP file of the Trusted Server and click Open. In the list of the Trusted Servers, the name of the Trusted Server appears to which projects from your Across Server can now be delegated.
Your Across Server as Trusted Server
If, however, projects from another Across Server are to be delegated to your Across Server, your Across Server takes on the function of the Trusted Server, and in this case, the delegating server is the Master Server. In this case, click Import below the list of Master Servers to register this Across Server as a Master Server. Then select the SCP file of the Master Server and click Open. In the list of the registered Master Servers, the Master Server you have just registered appears.
Additional information
The SCP file of your Across Server and of the other Across Server must be exchanged and imported outside Across (e.g. by e-mail).
SCP files are created in crossAdmin, the administration software of the Across Server.
If your Trusted Server receives tasks from a Master Server that in turn gets the tasks from another Master Server, both Master Servers will automatically appear in the crossGrid settings. If you want to delete your "direct" Master Server, you may need to manually remove the upstream Master Server of your direct Master Server.
If the settings of a Master Server or Trusted Server change on the server side and you get an updated SCP file, you can – after selecting the server – load it by means of the Update button in order to adjust the settings automatically.
Besides, to edit the settings of a Master Server or a Trusted Server, select it and click Edit. Finally, you can make the necessary changes manually.
To remove a registered crossGrid server, select it from the list, click Delete, and click Yes in the subsequent confirmation dialog.
It is not possible to delete a crossGrid server if it contains projects that have not yet been completed. The icon shows that the Server cannot be deleted.
