Data Assembling of Packages
Basically, you can determine the data to be transmitted to the Trusted Server and thus made available for processing delegated tasks. The data are assembled during the crossGrid package is being built.
Only the crossTank and/or crossTerm entries that exist in the source language and the target language of the translation will be transmitted. For example, for a translation from English to German, only translation units and/or terms in English and German, but not in French, will be transmitted. By default, the crossTank and/or crossTerm entries in all sublanguages will be transmitted.
The data are compiled in the following dialog window of the crossGrid Package Wizard.
The data compilation dialog will always be displayed in the crossGrid Package Wizard, even if the Trusted Server has been assigned a crossGrid packaging template. In this way you can check and, if necessary, adjust the data compilation. This does not change the packaging template.
General settings
Setting | Description |
Exclude binary data (images and objects) | With this option, define whether images and objects are to be transferred from the source document. Please note that this option is relevant for crossWAN only, for crossGrid it is of no importance. |
Exchange change history | With this option, you can determine that the log contents – i.e. information on changes to the editing states and changes to the translated content – are to be synchronized with the Trusted Server. |
crossTank
Provide Entries | In this area, you can select which crossTank entries are to be sent to the Trusted Server for the processing of the task(s). You can select one of the predefined filter options from the drop-down list or define custom filter settings by clicking Advanced filter in order to narrow down the crossTank entries to be sent, e.g. to particular subjects and/or relations. The filter settings correspond to those that you can also use in the crossTank Manager. Tip Instead of using the predefined filter options or the advanced filters, we recommend defining the needed filters at project level (in the project properties or in the underlying project settings template), as wrong filter settings can cause unwanted application situations (e.g. insufficient rights to process and finish a task). See also: Provide Entries |
Provide crossTank entries with match rate | Here you can determine the match rate from which crossTank entries are to be transmitted. |
Force storage of finished translations | Force storage of finished translations: If this option is activated, the translations must be saved to crossTank upon completion of the task on the Trusted Server side. The corresponding option will be activated in the dialog for finishing tasks and cannot be deactivated. |
Upload mode | You can select whether the crossTank entries created while processing the crossGrid tasks must be uploaded to your Master Server upon completion of the project. In this way, you can make sure that these entries will be transmitted and will not be forgotten. The corresponding options in the crossGrid Deliver Wizard are activated by the option and cannot be deactivated on the Trusted Server side. Attention Please note that the selected setting will apply globally to all tasks of a Trusted Server: If, for example, the Allow upload of data option is selected for a task, this will also apply to the other tasks of the Trusted Server. |
crossTerm
Setting | Description |
Provide Entries | In this area, you can select which crossTerm entries are to be sent to the Trusted Server for the processing of the task(s). You can select one of the predefined filter options from the drop-down list or define custom filter settings by clicking Advanced filter in order to narrow down the crossTerm entries to be sent, e.g. to particular subjects and/or relations. The filter settings correspond to those that you can also use in the crossTerm Manager.
Provide only terms that appear in source document | You can use this option to determine that only the crossTerm entries containing terms that occur in the source document are to be transmitted to the Trusted Server. The terms not occurring in the source document will not be transmitted. |
Transfer also terms only available in source language | This option means that entries that contain terms occurring only in the source language but not in the target language are also to be transferred. |
Exclude images | Here you can determine whether images contained in the crossTerm entries are to be transmitted to the Trusted Server. |
Upload mode | You can select whether the crossTerm entries created while processing the crossGrid tasks must be uploaded to your Master Server upon completion of the project. |
Deletions filter | Terms and entries that are deleted on the Master Server side are automatically also deleted on the Trusted Server side. The deletions take place the next time terminology is uploaded to the Trusted Server. Using the drop-down list, you can select which terminology deletions are to be transmitted to the Trusted Server:
|
Please note that crossTank entries that are deleted on the Master Server will not be removed from the Trusted Server if these entries already exist there during the next transmission of crossTank entries to the Trusted Server. In crossTerm, the deletion of entries and terms on the Trusted Server side will take place automatically the next time terminology is transmitted to the Trusted Server. The deletion of entries and terms depends on the selected option in the dialog for building data packages for the Trusted Server.
Complete deletion of the crossTank and crossTerm data will take place if all assigned tasks have been completed and uploaded to the Master Server at a particular time. On the Master Server side, all crossGrid packages must be deleted. Then it is normally necessary to sync the Master Server and the Trusted Server by clicking Update list and confirming the subsequent messages ("The delegation of the package 'package name' has been withdrawn." and "Do you want to remove external package(s)?") with OK or Yes on the Trusted Server side. In this way, all crossGrid packages will be deleted on the Trusted Server side. The deletion of the last package is accompanied by the deletion of the entries. Depending on the amount of crossTank/crossTerm data, this can take some time.
If tasks are continually assigned to the Trusted Server, the crossTank entries can, instead of being deleted, be marked with an additional user-defined system attribute (e.g. the attribute State with the attribute value Outdated).
Interaction of crossGrid filters and project settings filters
When creating projects, filters for the availability of crossTank and/or crossTerm entries can be defined by means of project settings templates. Furthermore, filters for the transmission of crossTank and/or crossTerm entries can be set when delegating crossGrid packages. If both filter types are used, the defined filters will be added up: If something is allowed in one filter, e.g. the transmission of crossTank entries with a particular relation, but the transmission is not allowed in the other filter, the respective entries will not be transmitted.
