Process released entries Allows the users of this group to process released translation units. If restrictions such as language restrictions are defined in the subordinate rights (Add entry, Edit entry, etc.), these restrictions also apply to the right Process released entries. | + | + | + | + | + | |
Manage all Activates all rights in the crossTank section. | + | + | + | + | + |
Some of the rights can be customized by means of the icon. Additionally, you can restrict the rights to certain languages and/or to certain attributes and attribute values.
If language and/or attribute restrictions have been defined, these restrictions will be displayed in blue.
Language restrictions
By restricting a right to certain languages, e.g. the right to create translation units, you can ensure that the members of the respective group can only create translation units in the defined language combination. For example, if the members of a group are granted the right to create translation units in the language combination German/English, the members of this group can only create translation units in the language directions German/English and English/German, but not in other combinations such as German/French.
To limit a right to certain languages, click the corresponding icon, select Restricted, and enable the checkbox Selected languages. Add the languages (and the sublanguages, if necessary) for which the members of the respective group are, for example, to be permitted to add new translation units. Using a subordinate option, you can also limit the languages to those assigned to the members of the group in the respective user settings.
You can use both options for restricting individual languages or you can combine them.
If a user is a member of several user groups, the restrictions of the corresponding groups will add up.
- Example user groups:
- Group 1: Restriction to the languages of the user settings (the right applies only to languages assigned to the user in the user settings)
- Group 2: Restriction to German (the right applies to German only, not to the other languages)
- Group 3: Restriction to English and restriction to the languages of the user settings
- Group 4: No restriction to particular languages (the right applies to all languages without any restrictions)
If a user is a member of various user groups, the combination of the different groups will result in the following restrictions:
- Group 1 + group 2: Restriction to the languages of the user settings and German
- Group 1 + group 3: Restriction to the languages of the user settings and English
- Group 2 + group 3: Restriction to the languages of the user settings and German and English
- Group 1, 2, and/or 3 + group 4: No restriction to particular languages
Attribute restrictions
By restricting a right to certain attributes or attribute values, e.g. the right to create translation units, you can ensure that the members of the respective group can only create translation units for the defined attribute values. For example, if the members of a group are granted the right to create translation units for the relation "Sample Inc.", the members of this group can only create translation units with this relation, but not with the relation "Example Company".
The attribute-specific user group rights can only be used for attributes defined as single-value attributes. Single-value attributes are attributes for which only one attribute value can be selected. Accordingly, it is not possible to select several attribute values.
To restrict a right to certain attributes or attribute values, click the corresponding icon, select Restricted, and enable the checkbox Selected attributes. Click Add to add an attribute. Then select In or Not in as a condition with the In condition corresponding to one of the selected attribute values. The Not in condition matches all but the selected values. Then, select those attribute values from the picklist, for which the members of a corresponding group should have the right for, for example, creating new translation units.
