Network Settings

  • For the Microsoft SQL Server to interact correctly with Across, the following protocols must be enabled in the network configuration:
  • Shared Memory
  • Named Pipes
  • TCP/IP
  1. Proceed as follows to customize the network settings:
  2. Open the SQL Server Configuration Manager.
  3. In the SQL Server Network Configuration area, select the respective instance.

    The protocols are displayed on the right-hand side along with their status.

  4. Activate all above-mentioned protocols via the context menu.
  5. Open the properties of the TCP/IP protocol.
  6. Under IP Addresses, identify the entry that shows the computer's IP address (usually IP2) and configure the following settings:
    • Active: Yes
    • Enabled: Yes
  7. Under SQL Server Services, set the Start Mode of the SQL Server Browser service to Automatic and start the service.
  8. Restart the Microsoft SQL Server after changing the settings.

  • Furthermore, open the necessary ports for the following components on the firewall:
  • UDP 1434 (SQL Server Browser)
  • sqlservr.exe
