Network Settings
- For the Microsoft SQL Server to interact correctly with Across, the following protocols must be enabled in the network configuration:
- Shared Memory
- Named Pipes
- TCP/IP
- Proceed as follows to customize the network settings:
- Open the SQL Server Configuration Manager.
- In the SQL Server Network Configuration area, select the respective instance.
The protocols are displayed on the right-hand side along with their status.
- Activate all above-mentioned protocols via the context menu.
- Open the properties of the TCP/IP protocol.
- Under IP Addresses, identify the entry that shows the computer's IP address (usually IP2) and configure the following settings:
- Active: Yes
- Enabled: Yes
- Under SQL Server Services, set the Start Mode of the SQL Server Browser service to Automatic and start the service.
- Restart the Microsoft SQL Server after changing the settings.

- Furthermore, open the necessary ports for the following components on the firewall:
- UDP 1434 (SQL Server Browser)
- sqlservr.exe
