Offline Product Activation
During the installation of the Across Language Server, the product is activated with the help of your Customer Product Key. To do this, a connection to the central Across license server is established, which can be reached at licenses.across.net.
If your server does not have any Internet connection or if, for any other reason, you get the message that this URL cannot be reached, you can also perform the product activation offline. For this, you need two exchange files that you can generate with a few steps. Among other things, this is done with the help of the CodeMeter Control Center, which is responsible for the configuration of the license server and which is installed automatically together with the Across Language Server.
The following instructions guide you step by step through the product activation offline:
- Finish the installation as described in chapter here, but do not start the configuration as yet.
- Start the CodeMeter Control Center, e.g. by using the respective tile in the Start screen under Windows Server 2012.
- Click Activate License to open the CodeMeter Field Activation Service (CmFAS) Assistant and click Next.
- Make sure that the option Create license request is selected and click Next.
- The Assistant will propose a storage location and a file name for the License Request File. If necessary, click ... to open a dialog window in which you can change these details.
- Click Commit in order to create the License Request File.
- After creating the License Request File, click Finish.
- Copy the License Request File to a computer on which the URL licenses.across.net can be reached and open this URL in your browser.Tip
The page licenses.across.net is available in three languages: English, French, and German. Select a language from the drop-down menu in the top right area of the page.
- Enter your CPK in the Customer Product Key field and click Get Licenses.
- You will now get an overview of the products contained in your Customer Product Key. Make sure that the checkboxes of all desired products are activated.
- Under Choose your License Request File, click Choose File and select the previously created License Request File.
- Click Get License Update and save the License Update File.
- Copy the license update file to the server on which you have installed Across and drag it to the CodeMeter Control Center. You can also import the file by clicking Activate License.
- The activation status now shows License activated; the Activate License button is now called License Update.
