Server
In the crossTank module bar, you can find information about crossTank configuring the different Across modes under Server Administration.
If you would like to modify settings, it is necessary to click Stop to stop the crossTank server first. Once you have changed the configuration, the Server must be restarted by clicking Start. Once you have stopped the crossTank Server, you can no longer work with crossTank in the network.
Please note that after restarting the crossTank Server, a rebuild of the search index is performed, which can take some time with large crossTank data sets. During the index rebuild, the crossTank Server is not available.
In the crossTank Server log file, you can track the progress of the index rebuild.
Server Settings
In the server settings, you can activate and configure the various Across modes.
In the Administration section, you can determine that the index statistics of the crossTank Server – i.e. statistical information on the distribution of contents in the databases – are to be updated every time the SQL Server is rebooted. If these statistics are no longer up to date, this can impair the performance of the SQL Server, especially after updating Across.
If you activated the option on updating index statistics, you should additionally enter the user name and password of the administrator access for the SQL Server. Using the Test account button, you can check whether the entered access data is correct.
