Press Report
In just three months from the project launch to the go-live, Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH introduced the Across Language Server. The hand tool manufacturer purchased the translation management software in January 2019. Following introductory training and a workshop on the configuration of the interface, the company is now well-prepared for the new, optimized translation process. All along, the company was actively supported by the service team of Across Systems GmbH.
In the course of the migration to a new PIM system, Wiha also addressed the subject of translation management. The objective was to optimize existing translation processes. The company thus focused on process automation and the reduction of the manual workload. The contents to be translated mainly comprise product descriptions that are stored in the PIM system as well as marketing texts. Accordingly, the prospective translation management software was expected to have an interface to the PIM system. Moreover, Wiha wanted to streamline its collaboration with language service providers and ensure a transparent overview of its translation costs at all times.
The market evaluation started in October 2018 and culminated in the decision in favor of the Across Language Server in January 2019. Apart from the required interface to the PIM, the translation management software features a wide function scope that Wiha needs in order to reach its project goals. Wiha opted for version 7 of Across Language Server, which has been on the market since mid-February. Immediately after the installation, the company took introductory training and participated in a workshop on the interface configuration together with the Across service team.
"The Across team was very competent and efficiently assisted us in introducing the translation tool. We are now looking forward to the first weeks of live operations, and we hope to save a lot of work and time with Across", explains Sonja Letzin, Online Marketing Manager at Wiha.
