Across Systems GmbH reports record attendance figures for its recent conferences. About 300 customers and friends from 20 countries came to Cologne, Germany, mainly to get information on version 7 of the Across Language Server. While the Across LSP Day addressed language service providers, the Across User Conference was designed for industrial enterprises.
Both conference days provided detailed insight into the new functions of the Across Language Server v7. Users of the new version benefit especially from optimized translation processes and flexible connection of third-party machine translation systems. In their presentations, the Across experts covered the new features in detail and drew attention to possible application areas. Many participants were especially interested in the integration and use of machine translation systems in the Across work environment. In view of the growing importance of machine translation, Across Systems also addressed this subject in further sessions, highlighting both the benefits and the risks. The ensuing discussions demonstrated how much the minds of language service providers and industrial enterprises are occupied with this technology.
Agenda Enhanced By Users and Partners
The participants got additional inspiration from the four user presentations that demonstrated various deployment scenarios of the Across Language Server in an application-oriented manner. Following up on the successful premiere in 2018, the Across partners again actively participated in drawing up the agenda. Plunet, SYSTRAN, Capital TI, and Textshuttle presented their solutions in separate sessions. At the partner booths in the exhibition area, the conference participants also had the opportunity to engage in interchange with the technology providers.
Outstanding Networking Opportunities
Participants in Across conferences especially appreciate the possibility of meeting new people and sharing knowledge and experience. Thus, the organizers provided ample opportunity for networking, e.g. the traditional boat tour on the Rhine River. The participants greatly enjoyed the juggling session after the lunch break.More News
