crossMarket to be replaced by HeyTranslator

Press Report

Across Systems GmbH has decided to shut down the online network crossMarket with the new release of the Across Language Server and Across Translator Edition on November 2, 2020. In the future, crossMarket will be replaced by HeyTranslator, the new matching platform for companies and translators. Across is thus responding to changing market requirements and consolidating its resources in the design and development of the new platform to better meet the needs of both companies and translators. The HeyTranslator launch is planned for 2021.

Changes for crossMarket subscribers:

  • Subscriptions associated with Across Translator Edition (ATE): As of November 2, 2020, users of the Across Translator Edition (ATE) will need to log in once with their (crossMarket) login details when launching the ATE. Otherwise, no further action is required to use the ATE. We will automatically move the existing account and invoice information to the new address, where users can easily log in with their existing (crossMarket) login details.
  • Standalone crossMarket subscriptions: For customers who have only concluded a crossMarket subscription, the subscription will be automatically terminated as of November 2, 2020. All existing job postings, profiles, and messages will be deleted on crossMarket.

In addition, with the shutdown of crossMarket, the features of crossMarket will no longer be available in the Across products. We therefore recommend that users install the update. However, this is not absolutely necessary.

New “HeyTranslator” platform to be launched in 2021

Following many interviews with various market participants, it became clear that a platform bringing together translators, language service providers, and companies for translation jobs was needed. For this reason, Across will be launching the new matching platform “HeyTranslator” in 2021. It will enable companies and language service providers to place translation orders, select translators, and process orders and payment all within the portal, making it an all-inclusive package. Translators will also benefit from the new portal and its features: They can offer their translation services in a profile and access many different job postings.

The portal not only features intuitive navigation and leading-edge technology but also scores points with its intelligent matching and filter features. A rating system for quality management will round out the platform. Interested parties can already register for the newsletter at to be the first to know about the go-live.
