Across marked its 20th anniversary last year. Since green is much more than just a color to us, we decided to commemorate this special occasion by getting involved in a valuable regional conservation project. In our search for a suitable project, we ultimately ended up contacting the Enzkreis Agricultural Office. Fruit-growing consultant Bernhard Reisch helped us out by arranging a tree-planting campaign in the orchard meadow area: a replanting initiative involving cider pear trees, including the necessary tree cultivation work that would take place later.
In spring, 20 pear trees were added to the meadow orchard in the Tiefenbronn district, with the planting supplemented by two years of subsequent care. The trees have since taken hold and are now on the right track to enrich the cider pear meadow visually and ecologically. We hope to see them bear fruit in a few years.
We are pleased to be able to support such a valuable project, and we will certainly report here from time to time on how the new trees are getting along in the meadow.
