Across Language Server with Interface to DeepL

Press Report

Across Systems GmbH has integrated the DeepL Pro machine translation system in its Across Language Server. Users benefit from high-quality translations that the DeepL server makes available speedily. DeepL delivers results on the basis of neural networks, ensuring an exceptionally high machine translation quality. Among other things, the recently released DeepL Pro version features a programming interface (API) for the connection to third-party software. On this basis, the Across developers have integrated DeepL Pro in the Across Language Server. Across users can send source texts to the DeepL server and get translations without leaving their accustomed work environment. The combination of the translation management system, the reuse of quality-assured content, and machine translation helps enterprises save time and money. In this way, translation processes can be further streamlined: instead of having to translate and review a text, it is often sufficient to merely post-edit it. "Before sending a text to the DeepL server, users of the Across Language Server can check the system for any released translations already available for sentences in the source text. This enables the efficient reuse of previously translated text segments", explains Christian Weih, Member of the Management Board of Across Systems GmbH. The customer can determine the matching threshold between the sentences to be translated and the existing sentences from which machine translations are to be applied. Another important aspect of DeepL Pro is that in contrast to the free DeepL Translator, the transmission of texts is encrypted, and the texts are not stored. "Across protects customer data throughout the translation process", says Christian Weih. "We know that our customers put a lot of emphasis on information security. Therefore, the measures now available in DeepL Pro were a precondition for integrating the technology in our Across Language Server. This makes sure that unauthorized third parties cannot access any sensitive content."
