Evaluating the quality of (machine) translation
Analyze edits with the Edit Distance Report
The new Edit Distance Report allows you to do things such as evaluate the quality of machine translation. This new report analyzes each editing step in the workflow and shows you as the project manager the difference between the machine translation results and the text after post-editing. In this way you can evaluate the quality of the machine translation engine while simultaneously analyzing the post-editing in a more precise manner. Even without machine translation, you can use the Edit Distance Report to analyze all editing steps that take place during the entire translation process. Internal reviewers typically analyze the editing to assess the quality of the translation.
Optimized quality management (QM)
Useful new features of QM mode v7.0
As of the new version, translation service providers and translators can add their own QM criteria to tasks even if they have received these tasks from the customer as a Trusted Server or offline user. In addition, “do-not-use terms” in the terminology are now also marked as errors, and filtering options for the QM criteria have been improved.
Simplified terminology work
Get a better overview of tasks in crossTerm Now
The task overview in crossTerm Now is more clearly arranged, and you can now switch between tasks with just a click. Thanks to new filters and sorting options, you get a better overview and can find the tasks you are looking for faster. The task history also remains complete even if individual terms and entries have been deleted in the meantime.
Homographs and duplicate translations avoided
A warning message is displayed to let users know that the suggested term already exists. A note is also output in case of translation tasks for a term for which a translation already exists. In this way you can avoid duplicate entries and unnecessary tasks.
