Example 2: Graded billing of 100% matches, fuzzy matches, and no matches

  • The invoice is to be generated in line with the following rules:
  • No billing of locked or hidden segments
  • No billing of repetitions and context matches
  • Partial billing of 100% matches (20% of the full rate per line)
  • Partial billing of fuzzy matches (70% of the full line rate). The fuzzy matches are calculated for a single match range (e.g. 50-99%) and are not broken down into individual match ranges (e.g. 90-99%, 80-89% etc.).
  • Full billing of segments without crossTank hits (No match category)

To prepare such an invoice, you may want to set up a new reporting template under Tools > System Settings > General > Reporting and customize it in such a way that it reflects the desired match range (e.g. 50-99%). When generating the report with the Report Wizard, select this template as the basis for the report.

According to the grading shown above, the invoice consists of three sub-calculations:

Calculation of the Partial Billing of 100% Matches

To calculate the price for the translation and editing of the 100% matches in the 100% matches row, select the cell containing the desired unit (e.g. standard lines) and multiply the value by the corresponding rate, e.g. 95 standard lines x $0.24 (20% of $1.20) = $22.80.

Calculation of the Partial Billing of Fuzzy Matches

To calculate the price for the translation of the fuzzy matches in the 50-99% row, select the cell containing the desired unit (e.g. standard lines) and multiply the value by the corresponding rate, e.g. 210 standard lines x $0.84 (70% of $1.20) = $176.40.

Calculation of the Full Billing of Segments Without crossTank Hits

To calculate the price for the translation of the segments without crossTank hits in the No match row, select the cell containing the desired unit (e.g. standard lines) and multiply the value by the corresponding rate, e.g. 100 standard lines x $1.20 = $120.00.

Calculating the Total

The three sub-calculations add up to a price of $319.20 for the translation.
