crossTerm Web is the Web-based edition of the crossTerm Manager. It enables you to perform tasks like doing terminology research and creating entries via the Internet, using a browser. Across does not need to be installed on the local computer.
- crossTerm Web offers two modes of access to the terminology stored in crossTerm:
- crossTerm Web read access: Only permits read access to the crossTerm terminology stock. Thus, terminology can be searched for, but entries or terms cannot be created or edited.
- crossTerm Web read/write access: Permits both read and write access to the crossTerm terminology stock. Thus, terminology can be searched for, and entries or terms can be created and edited.
The crossTerm Web interface is available in English, German, and French.
You can save the settings you make in crossTerm Web (e.g. the selection of source and target languages or the setting of filters) in order to avoid having to make the settings anew when you log in to crossTerm Web again.
To save these user settings, a corresponding option is available in the crossTerm Web settings.
Within Across, the mode of access to the crossTerm terminology stock via crossTerm Web is controlled by means of the user groups crossTerm Web read-only access and crossTerm Web read/write access. Users that are to be granted access to crossTerm Web must be members of the respective user group.
Instead of user-specific write and read access, the crossTerm Web Enterprise License offers user-independent access to crossTerm Web.
In order to use crossTerm Web, you need to have a computer with an Internet connection, your Across user name and, if applicable, your password as well as the Internet address (URL) of the Across Server. If necessary, contact your system administrator or the Across Supervisor to obtain the required login details.
