User Settings for crossDesk Web

The crossDesk area in the user settings in crossWeb comprises the following subsections:

Auto-propagate

In the Auto-propagate section you can specify that Across checks whether a newly translated (or corrected) paragraph also occurs in other parts of the document. If so, Across will automatically insert the translation at those points, if the Auto-propagate function is enabled. In order to avoid previous translations from being overwritten, you can specify that the auto-propagate function only works for paragraphs with the editing state Untouched.

In addition, you can determine that the paragraphs in which the translation is inserted via the auto-propagate function are to be set to the paragraph state of the paragraph that is currently being translated.

crossTank

In the crossTank section, you can select the maximum number of results for a concordance search and for a search for similar sentences in crossDesk Web and determine the match rate from which crossTank entries are to be displayed during a fuzzy search. The minimum match rate is 50%.

You can also invert the color display of the crossTank hits. Thus, it is possible to highlight either the similarities or the differences of the crossTank hits compared to the current sentence.

The option can also be activated or deactivated via the icn_cDesk-web_cTa_markierung-umkehren icon in the toolbar of the fuzzy search.

Source/Context View

In the Source/Context View section, a corresponding option enables you to determine whether the inactive paragraphs of the Source/Context View are to be displayed in uniform, default style or whether the formatting such as bold type or italics formatting of a word within a sentence should be displayed.

Target Editor

In the Target Editor section, you can define character combinations that Across automatically converts if they are entered in the Target Editor of crossWeb. These may be frequent typing errors such as "teh" instead of "the". These can also be character combinations that Across automatically converts into a special sign or symbol, such as (c) to ©. Click Add to add a character combination and its correct form or the desired symbol to the list. You can adjust an existing entry by clicking with the cursor in the corresponding field. An existing entry can be removed by using Remove.
