Cross-reference Check

When a cross-reference is inserted in a text field, the system automatically checks whether the cross-reference is valid or not. The system checks whether the target of the cross-reference – usually a term that is referred to – exists. Valid cross-references are displayed in blue as usual. Invalid cross-references are displayed in red.

Apart from the automatic check of cross-references, cross-references can also be checked manually. This is necessary if you have manually adapted an existing cross-reference.

To check a cross-reference manually, right-click the respective cross-reference and select the item Check cross-reference from the context menu.

Following the manual check, a valid cross-reference is displayed in green.
