'Effective Terminology Management -
Key Contributor to Quality & Consistency of Multilingual Content'

Like content, terminology is a major asset of corporations. Its proper management results in major cost reduction and time efficiencies - preventing re-work, eliminating additional review cycles and QA steps, and shortening total localization turnaround time.

Strong brands are built on consistent messaging, and this is impossible without consistent terminology. When inconsistent terminology infiltrates product user interfaces, documentation, packaging, and marketing product usability is reduced, support requests increase, brands are weakened, and translation costs rocket. Not to mentioned, some terminology errors can even cause product malfunction.

A survey conducted by the Localization Industry Standards Association confirmed that actively managing terminology should be part of any global product development strategy. 88 percent of respondents who actively manage terminology reported an increase in product quality, while 74 percent reported an increase in productivity, 62 percent saved costs, and 56 percent felt it increased their company's competitive edge.

However, terminology work only makes sense if the results are made available to all parties involved, e.g. specialized departments, advisory board and upper management, suppliers, and service providers.

This webinar covered:
- Why terminology management should play a key role in every global corporation
- For which parties of a company terminology is important
- How to identify necessary terminology
- How to centrally define and administer terminology
- Why terminology should be applied in the early-stage of the authoring phase
- How to make defined terminology available for text creation, translation, and quality assurance

Properly managed terminology supports your corporate brand image, and makes your products easier to use, translate, and adapt to global markets.
Attendees of this webinar learned why professional terminology management is a key factor for global corporations and how to gain efficient processes.
