crossDeskcrossDesk is the work environment of translators and correctors in Across. Translation-relevant texts are displayed and processed here, regardless of the document format. Thus, the translator can concentrate on his actual work and does not need to be concerned with the characteristics of the particular document format. For most formats, a WYSIWYG preview can be generated with a button click in order to check the layout.
Matches in the translation memory or terminology system as well as hits from the concordance search or from the research tool crossSearch are directly displayed and can easily be adopted. Various quality management functions such as the spell check and the text length check show potential error sources at a glance. In this way, it is also possible to prevent the translation from being accidentally formatted in a different way than the source text. Every text segment is associated with an editing state that can be used to control the workflow, e.g. for systematic correction and release after the translation is finished. crossDesk is a basic feature of Across that is included in the product scope of the Across Language Server.
