crossCheckSeamless processes with the Across Language Server also mean seamless integration of the quality management. Therefore, the respective functions are available in all Across components. The correction/release steps that are required for the project and the quality criteria to be observed are determined when the project is set up. As part of the integrated workflow control, the editing states of the individual text segments enable the selective processing of corrections and releases. One of the predefined standard workflows of Across is based on the European standard EN 15038 and is configured for the quality assurance measures specified therein. Various error sources are analyzed and displayed in crossDesk while translating, e.g. spelling errors or excessive text lengths. Paragraphs left untranslated by mistake or ignored translation memory entries are also analyzed automatically. Special editor views are available for correctors. Bookmark and comment functions as well as an internal messaging system enable efficient communication between the corrector and the translator. As correctors are often outside the actual translation process, correction tasks can be processed via crossWeb, using a browser and without having Across installed. The reporting at the end of a project can indicate specific error types and error sources, thereby enabling the optimization of future projects. The open interfaces of the Language Server are available for quality requirements that exceed the scope of the functionality integrated in Across. For example, these interfaces enable the seamless connection of systems for a rule-based review of the source or target texts. The integrated quality management tools are basic features of Across that are included in the product scope of the Across Language Server. An interactive tutorial about the processing of correction tasks in crossDesk is available here. A white paper about project and quality management is available here. |
