"We are very happy that leading representatives from the research and development sector will be serving on our advisory board," reports Andreas Dürr, whose responsibilities for Across include R&D cooperations. "Our Advisory Board is a forum for constant exchange between product development, on the one hand, and applied linguistics, on the other hand. Our goal is to combine technological and academic research in a way that will profit both sectors."
In addition to its work with the Advisory Board, cooperations exist between Across and Germany's leading translator-training institutions. Through the cooperations, joint events and classes are offered, and students can acquire licenses for the Across Campus Edition at no charge. This will allow students to become acquainted with the concept of networked, integrated translation work, which Across envisions to be the future of professional translation work.
