ITP Global Chooses Across Language Server to Gain Greater Flexibility in Management of Global Translation and Localization Projects
Leading Japanese communication agency with multinational presence replacing existing translation tool, citing impressive management
LOS ANGELES - Oct. 20, 2009 - ITP Global, an international specialist in technical translation and software localization for more than 90 years, has selected the Across Language Server to support its multinational enterprise customers. The centralized translation management software platform from Across Systems will be used to manage localization projects in all language pairs handled by the company across its offices in Asia, Europe and the Americas. In Japan, the company is known as Ishida Taiseisha Japan Co. Ltd. As a strategic partner, ITP will participate in the Across Partner Area at the Localization World conference in Santa Clara, Oct 20-22, 2009.
With such an extensive network, ITP requires a comprehensive solution that can manage the whole workflow process and that allows the company to integrate its own in-house-developed tools. With the assistance of an external consultant, ITP reviewed four leading programs in the market for flexibility, ease of use and transparency. According to company management, ITP chose the Across Language Server for its forward-thinking management group in addition to its technical reliability, open interfaces, clear tracking capabilities and responsive customer support.

ITP previously used Trados and decided to replace it with Across technology to gain better flexibility to accomodate the varying priorities of its customers, in addition to having one centralized platform. The Language Server system will enable ITP translation projects to be delegated either to in-house or external translators who are specialists in particular industry terminology and knowledge. All parties involved, including internal project managers and all translators, are connected seamlessly via the Language Server, with access to common language resources such as terminology and translation memory. This approach maximizes consistency in translations, ensures uniform wording, and minimizes translation costs, thanks to the reuse of previously translated text segments.
The transparent workflow tracking process and single portal access eliminate e-mail traffic normally associated with project management, significantly accelerating turnaround. New terminology additions are automatically added to the system, relieving the engineering department or project manager of repetitive, non-value added tasks, thereby increasing productivity. ITP is now in the process of installing the Across software.
