LOS ANGELES - Feb. 16, 2011 – Translation management technology from Across Systems, supplier of the leading independent linguistic supply chain technology, has been chosen by ERDAS, a leader in the geospatial information market, to support localization of its desktop products. ERDAS, the “Earth to Business Company,” helps organizations harness the Earth's geospatial information for business decisions. Its customers include many important government-based organizations, in China and across the globe, as well as several engineering firms.
Currently in Phase 1 of deployment, ERDAS is using the Across Language Server platform to translate software interfaces, online help, and technical documentation between English and Chinese. This is the first time the company has initiated localization project management software from any vendor. ERDAS executives cited the workflow design, memory and term management efficiency, and consistency advantages of the Across Language Server software as the primary reasons for their choice to adopt it as their primary solution. With China as a huge growing market for geo software, company executives knew it was important to equip themselves with language technology to be in the forefront of this new market.
