Detroit Translation Bureau Chooses Across Language Server for Its Translation Management System
DTB to use Language Server to speed faster translations of communications materials for top motor vehicle industry clients
BINGHAM FARMS, Mich. and GLENDALE, Calif. – Nov. 24, 2008 – Detroit Translation Bureau (DTB), a leading provider of translation management services, especially for the motor vehicle industry, has chosen the Across Language Server for its translation management system after a thorough investigation of corporate language software platform products in the marketplace. The Across Language Server will provide DTB with a central software platform for all corporate language resources and translation processes for its many motor vehicle industry clients and will allow DTB to “connect” to them directly.
This integrated solution embeds powerful project management tools for online oversight and control of translation projects, a translation memory, a terminology system, and a universal translation editor. Due to its singular environment and friction-free knowledge sharing aspects, Across Language Server engenders seamless collaboration of authors, translators, and editors, including internal and external translators as well as subcontractors. As an independent technology provider, Across has focused on development of an open architecture platform that also allows for easy integration of authoring software, content management systems, and quality assurance programs for an end-to-end solution.
According to President and CEO of DTB Rick Woyde, DTB expects the Across Language Server to contribute considerable efficiencies and help them to meet demands for increasingly shorter timeframes faced in turning around materials across multiple time zones.
“The Across Language Server allows us to eliminate non-value tasks so we can focus on quality, providing our customers with a better value proposition, and faster time to market,” said Woyde. “We’ll be able to assign multiple translators to a project and complete, in just a few days, multi-language projects that might previously have taken weeks to do, with transparency of the whole process. The cost savings and time efficiencies are important, but even more important is the fact that we’ll provide an even better service for our customers.”
DTB plans to move its largest translation projects to the Across platform as quickly as possible. For Across, the DTB account represents another win in the automotive industry. Across recently added the worldwide Volkswagen translation management system account and already works with Navigon and other industry suppliers. Detroit Translation Bureau‘s decision to use Across is both technology- and market-driven, as it will also increase DTB‘s exposure to other Across customers in the industry.
“By using the Across Language Server, DTB will be able to make its customer part of the automated process for better workflow and faster project closure,” said Daniel Nackovski, president of Across Systems, Inc. “For example, the client can transmit a new user manual that might require translation into 10 languages, and it will automatically be initiated by the DTB project manager in three time zones over two continents simultaneously. It’s a better value proposition for all concerned.”
