CLS Communication Enters into Partnership with Across Systems
Switzerland's largest language service provider has chosen the Across Language Server as the software platform for its translation process
KARLSBAD, ZURICH, LOS ANGELES – June, 2009 – CLS Communication, an international provider of multilingual communication services, and Across Systems have announced that they have entered into a joint strategic partnership, on the eve of the first Swiss Across User Conference. By introducing the Across Language Server, CLS is looking to optimize processes and integrate clients in an end-to-end linguistic supply chain. The Across technology platform will enable seamless administration of translation processes, client-specific terminology management and centralized access to language resources.
The Across User Conference will take place in Küsnacht, Switzerland, near Zurich, on June 17, 2009.
CLS Communication specializes in the production, translation and management of multilingual documentation, supporting its clients in a process-oriented way at each stage, from text editing and translation up to and including final proofs. Across will provide CLS with an open, independent platform that will enable distributed collaboration across the company's 14 international locations on behalf of its globally active clients.
The decision by CLS in favor of Across was also driven by a growing demand by clients themselves. Thanks to Across technology, clients will be able to automate processes and directly exchange data with CLS Communication’s server via open interfaces and using special collaboration tools. Having end-to-end processes will shorten lead times, reduce manual text-handling, increase transparency for all parties involved and, ultimately reduce costs. On request, clients can be provided with direct access to their own specific language resources so that, for example, their corporate terminology can also be made available to other departments within the company.
