The so-called concordance search makes it possible - either from »crossDesk or straight from »crossTerm - to search for terms within the »Translation Memory entries. This allows the translator to view previous contextual usage of a word - a feature which is often far more useful than a mere terminological entry.

 

By means of the integrated terminology extraction, the trade language can be separated from the text prior to translation, in order to, e.g. determine the degree of difficulty of a text or to make the specific terminology accessible in advance. Especially when translators work in project teams, it is essential to define debatable terms right from the start, instead of either accepting various words for the same thing or wasting time on tedious revision.
